Young Children & New Media: Librarians Reframing the Discussion

In June 2014, Cen Campbell and I co-presented a webinar titled “Young Children & New Media: Librarians Reframing the Discussion” for the TEC Center at the Erikson Institute. This webinar discussed the current popular landscape for talking about new media use with young children, and librarians’ efforts to reframe the discussion to more productive, collaborative, and child-centered conversations. We discussed some guiding principles for thinking about developing appropriate practices for young children and new media in both libraries and child care centers.
