Media Mentorship in Libraries Serving Youth: A Primer

I presented a webinar for ALSC entitled “Media Mentorship in Libraries Serving Youth: A Primer” as a follow-up and exploration of the ALSC Board’s adoption of a white paper on the topic. The webinar included an exploration of the public and library contexts for the white paper; a synopsis of the paper’s main message; resources–including expert recommendations, evaluative resources, and tips for staying abreast of developing research–for the media mentor to use; and examples of how libraries of many sizes and locations across the country are acting as media mentors to the children and families they serve. The archive of the webinar is available here.
