I moderated and presented on a panel at the Public Libraries & STEM Conference in Denver, CO, in August 2015. The panel focused on programs and services for reaching communities underrepresented in STEM/STEAM, be they defined by geographical location, racial demographics, socioeconomic status, or other factors. I spoke specifically about the importance of intentionally incorporating racial diversity in STEAM programs and services. My fellow panelists included Sarah Waldrop of the Science Museum of Virginia; Robert Jakubowski of Datum Advisors; and Tracy Treece from Denver Public Library. Our slides are below.
